Great! Their smaller size gives us more flexibility in what types of spaces they are able to stay in, so we are currently able to accommodate more animals under 30 lbs for boarding.

At this time, we are not accepting new pets over 30 lbs, in an effort to better serve our existing clients, as we are already regularly wait-listing larger dogs. Please feel free to check back in the future to see if this has changed, as it may in time.

Does your pet have any known ongoing or chronic health issues that require special management or treatments, or that might put them at particular risk in a boarding setting?(Required)

For example, this could include heart issues, diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, epilepsy, etc.

Unfortunately at this time we are not able to accept new boarding clients for pets with these types of health issues.

Due to the added complexity in providing care for pets with such conditions and the additional risks that they may face in a boarding environment, such as flare-ups to their conditions due to stress, conditions that require special treatments and interventions are difficult to manage when we are not a pet’s primary care provider. For cases such as these, we recommend using a facility with overnight staffing, or a full-time sitter who can be better positioned to manage your pet’s particular health needs.

Great! While we are also a veterinary office, complex or chronic health issues that require special treatments and interventions are difficult to manage when we are not a pet’s primary care provider, so we are better able to board pets that either are already our medical clients, or do that not have these kinds of issues.

Is your pet comfortable being handled by new people?(Required)

For example, would your pet tolerate being approached by a person it does not know, being leashed or unleashed, and picked up and carried by a member of our staff?

Great! If your pet is happy with meeting new people and being handled, including being picked up if needed, then they are a good candidate for boarding at our facility. This makes it much easier to ensure we will be able to provide your pet the care that they need during their stay with us.

If we cannot safely handle your pet, we will not be able to provide them with appropriate care. In order to ensure we will be able to provide appropriate care for your pet while here, we will need to be able to safely touch and handle them, including being able to pick them up if necessary. If you don’t think your pet will be amenable to this, we would instead recommend working with a trainer or behaviorist to address those concerns prior to any boarding.

If you’re not sure or if your pet may just need time to adjust to a new facility and new people, we can discuss doing a day or single overnight trial run when you can be local to test this and ensure we will be able to provide care for your pet. If we cannot provide care for them adequately due to reactive or potentially dangerous behaviors, we would need you to pick them up early. It is important to test this before committing to a longer period stay where you would be unable to return to pick them up early.

Unfortunately, we will almost certainly not be able to assist you with this boarding request due to how soon it is. It takes time to get you and your pet added to our system, to contact and go back and forth with your primary care veterinarian to get their health records sent over and squared away, and if for any reason your pet would need to get a vaccination or test done to meet our health requirements, there will likely not be enough time to do so.

That said, understanding the above, you are welcome to select the “More than 2 weeks from now” option and still submit this form to get your pet set up with us for future boarding visits. We want to make sure we set reasonable expectations for what we can or cannot accommodate in the immediate future. (Even if it only takes days or a week to process your request and get you set up on our end, we don’t want to find out we can’t accommodate you and leave you hanging last minute when your trip is so soon. This policy is truly for everyone’s benefit and is based on our prior experiences.)

Great! That will hopefully give us time to get paperwork in order and ensure that your pet meets the health requirements to board with us by the time of your trip. Sometimes a pet may need a vaccination to be done at least 10 days prior to arrival, so this gives a bit of a buffer and increases the liklihood we will be able to accommodate your pet.

The sooner your trip is, the more quickly we will need to move in getting you set up so that there’s time to iron out the details.

Based on the selections you’ve made above, it does not appear we will be able to take your pet on for services at this time. Please feel free to check back in the future to see if our availability has changed, or if your pet’s needs have changed. If your pet and the reservation you’re requesting meet all of the above conditions, we may be able to take you on as a new boarding client. (Please note that you will not be able to submit this form if your pet and the timeframe you have requested do not meet the conditions for being accepted as a new patient at this time.)
